About This Site & FAQsThis section contains general information about the site together with guidance on how to advertise on it.Who runs the site and what's its purpose? The 'South of Horsham' website is run by Peter Bailey, who has lived in Cowfold with his wife Ginny since 1995. The purpose of the site is to provide an online resource for people who live in the communities to the South of Horsham, who run businesses there or who are visiting the area. The centre of the catchment area is Cowfold and includes the villages of Partridge Green, Henfield, Southwater, Mannings Heath, Bolney, Lower Beeding, and Shermanbury. The site will only grow with input from local people, so if you would like to voice your opinions, advertise your business, publicise your club or society or contribute in any way please contact us. You can advertise on the South of Horsham website FREE OF CHARGE. The listing will enable you to include full details of your business, club, society or item for sale as well as images, logos and a link to your website if you have one. It will also includes a map showing your location so that customers can find you easily (if applicable) as well as an aerial photograph (where available) of the surrounding area. Businesses can also advertise vacancies free of charge, enabling you to reach your target audience without the need to pay agency fees or to spend money on other forms of advertising. Although there will always be a place for 'paper' advertisements the fact is that ever increasing numbers of people have access to the internet and are using it for their shopping, entertainment and to search for information. With more people spending more time in front of their computers they are more likely to look for what they want online rather than thumbing through a paper or magazine, so if your business does not have an online presence you could be missing out. Another important thing to point out is that the South of Horsham website is not yet another impersonal online directory, and there are plenty out there. The whole ethos behind the site is that it is run for the benefit of people and businesses in the area and its aim is to become the first place people look for local trades, businesses, services and information. I would like to send you information about my business, organisation or event - what format should it be in? We can either copy and paste the text directly from your email, or you can send attachments in MS Word. Please send images such as logos and photographs in .jpg or .gif format. Complex Word documents containing images, bullet points etc should also be sent in .jpg format. What sort of things will (or will not be) included on the site? This site is intended for legitimate purposes only and will not intentionally or knowingly contain any information or material that is in any way offensive, unlawful or misleading. In a nutshell, if we don't like the look of it it doesn't go on. If something does slip through the net we reserve the right to amend or remove it without reference to the originator. What will happen to any personal information we send you, such as names and addresses and 'phone numbers?
